Congratulations to SBCF Managing Partner Alex Caballero, who is serving a three-year term on The Florida Bar Professional Ethics Committee. The committee is charged with answering ethics inquiries from members of the Bar concerning attorneys’ proposed conduct, and it publishes formal advisory opinions to guide Bar members in interpreting and applying the ethics rules. The SBCF team is extremely proud of attorney Sarah E. Kay, who has been honored for the third time by the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar with its Above and Beyond Award. The inscription reads, “For exceeding all expectations with your tireless dedication and hard work to benefit the Family Law Section.” Sarah has been a Family Law Section member since 2010 and an Executive Council member since 2015. She has served in leadership roles and as a member of numerous Family Law Section committees including Continuing Legal Education, Certification Review Course, Finance, Family Law Rules and Forms, and Technology. We are proud to announce that SBCF partner Jennifer A. Ficarrotta has been appointed to a three-year term as Vice-Chair of The Florida Bar Marital & Family Law Board Certification Committee. The nine-member committee reviews credentials for Marital & Family Law certification applicants, implements the area’s standards, and administers and grades certification examinations. Board certification evaluates attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Board certified lawyers are evaluated for professionalism and tested for expertise. Jennifer earned Florida Bar Marital & Family Law board certification in 2015.
